St Patrick's Day
:

One of Ireland’s patron saints, Saint Patrick is commemorated on the 17th of March – the day when he is believed to have died. Without a doubt, the highlight of the Dublin events calendar is the annual celebration of St Patrick’s Day. From the United States, Great Britain, and Canada to Germany, Russia, and Korea, St Patrick’s Day is celebrated the world over and for that one day, everybody is considered to be Irish.

The Blues Festival:

For some reason, in the most romantic and idealised views that people have of Dublin, they almost always picture people dancing to folk music on tables and swinging around large tankards of beer If such an image has ever entered your mind, you would have unwittingly imagined the Temple Bar Blues Festival. One of Dublin’s oldest districts, the Temple Bar area truly comes alive at around the end of January when the Festival of Irish Music and Culture hits the town.

The Bray Jazz Festival:

If you’re passionate about jazz, then you know how it feels to hear those swinging rhythms and can truly appreciate the unique qualities of this musical genre. Therefore you’ll be pleased to know that Dublin boasts a Mecca for jazz lovers on its borders – a place where you can see some of the country’s and the world’s best jazz musicians perform live, and enjoy them among the company of other jazz enthusiasts.

The Dublin Theatre Festival:

If you happen to be in Dublin during the month of October, you could do worse than checking out the Dublin Theatre Festival – Europe’s oldest specialised theatre festival. Established in 1957, the festival’s aim is to bring the very best of international theatre to Dublin while also providing a platform for the most promising Irish writers and directors of the day.

The Motor Show:

Car fans should be on the lookout for any motor shows that may be scheduled whenever the visit Dublin. If you’re crazy about cars then you’ll no doubt appreciate the sheer love and care with which these fine vehicles’ owners maintain them. Popular car shows exhibit souped up cars with sparkling turbo engines and lavish accessories. These chrome and metallic creations would be spectacular sights to see – particularly when the original car would have been quite an ordinary and commonplace model and can illustrate what a car can look like if one were to invest enough time, effort, and expertise.

The Oxegen Music Festival:

Since 2004, this music festival has been featuring some of the biggest names in the international music scene. All right, so technically the Oxegen Music Festival happens in County Kildare which is southwest of Dublin and so therefore not strictly in Dublin itself.
